If it's an 'unopened box', then that would seem to be an unused license, but make sure its a full license and not an upgrade license. Also if you ever decided to upgrade to a current version you would have to pay full price instead of the upgrade price. That would be ripping you off as they would still own the product and you wouldn't even be able to use Reason 6 and above. With that in mind, DO NOT BUY from anyone is unable to transfer their license to you.

Your best bet at finding a seller would probably be for Reason 7 or 8. Once you upgrade all of your licenses are connected, so if you sell your Reason license you sell every version you've ever owned. The tricky thing about buying a old version though, especially as old as version 5, is it means that the seller would have had to have never upgraded it.
